Gollywhopper Games

The gollywhopper Games is a lot like the Willy Wonka book, it is a competition with golden tickets, test, and crazy wack inventions. But in stead of a candy factory, its a toy factory. BUt in a lot of other ways it's different also. But I won't spoil anything. I especially like all of the puzzles, which I love to figure out. They are easier puzzles than the Winston Breen series, but I still love them.

The Help

On the suggested reading list for school, it listed the Help. My friend let me borrow it and I thought'hey, my mom likes it, I'll give it a go". It is really good! It's good if you read it for laughs, a storyline, the characters, or a more insightful detail on what it must have been like for blacks in the 1950s. My favorite character is Minny, or her daughter Kindra. So much sass in one little girl!

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

Now I don't get miss Hilly. Loving to her kids, devoted to her husband's career, seems pretty faithful to friends, yet she's racist. Now, the book says she is a "deeply flawed person". But I don't believe that. I think her way of thinking is a mistake, one that could be changed, or prevented. A deeply flawed person would be mean and spiteful to everybody. Or is it worse, to be kind and caring to most, and a horrid person to others.. Either way I don't believe she is flawed. I just believe she has character mistakes.

Spoilers!

OK, so when I started this blog, I was like, "Lets tell them about my favorite books and why I like them!"!!!!! But its more complicated than that. Because I just realized a major issue. Spoilers. What to do abut them? Add them? Add them with warnings? Don't include them? Have special "spoiler posts?"? I don't know? So please take the poll! And if you don't see an option that you like, comment below. If you can. If not, and you are family, email me. Hopefully you know my email address.

Graceling

One of my top all time favorite books/series is the Graceling series by Kristen Cashore.
The books are :
-Graceling
-Fire (prequel to Graceling)
-Bitterblue (sequel too Graceling but with a different main character)

My favorite is Graceling, but all three are great. The main character is a female assassin, graced with the power of killing. Or at least she thinks she is. She doesn't have many friends, but then she meets Po. Po is a .... ARGGH! How do I not spoil the book for you?? How about this. I will put up a poll on whether you mind spoilers and then I will finish this post. Because this is one of the best books. Ever.

Promise

To all my disappointed family...I will actually update this one. I swear. I actually have time to read books. I did not have time to bake however. So I swear I will update this. Maybe once a week?

Introduction

I am a thirteen year old girl who loves reading. And I mean love. I read just about a book a day. Exceptions are some big books, for instance, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows takes me about three days. But anyways, I always have a book handy. And I always read in my spare time. I read instead of watching tv before bed (mostly). And I read at meals. And I read while brushing my teeth. And I read on the bus. And I... Well you get the picture. But it amazes me that not a lot of people know about and love the books that I love. Of course I love Harry Potter ( read the series 47 times), and I love the Percy Jackson series, and the Hunger Games, but I also love Graceling, and Eva Ibbotson books, and The Gollywhopper games. And most people have no idea what I am talking about when I mention those books. So this blog is to tell you about myself, and the books and authors I love. And hopefully you will love them too.
